Conservation Improvement Program
About the Program
The Conservation Improvement Program (CIP) helps Minnesota households use electricity and natural gas more efficiently – conserving energy, reducing carbon dioxide emissions, and lessening the need for new utility infrastructure. CIP is funded by ratepayers and administered by electricity and natural gas utilities.
Eligibility Information
Each utility sets their own program rules and requirements. Assistance ranges from LED light bulbs to larger items such as appliances and mechanical system replacements, to even funding weatherization projects.
WCMCA works with the following utilities to implement their Conservation Improvement Program:
- CenterPoint Energy
- Great Plains Natural Gas Company
- Minnesota Energy Resources Corporation
- Otter Tail Power Company
- Moorhead Public Service
- Runestone Electric Association
- Wild Rice Electric Co-Op Inc.
- Xcel Energy
